FRESHNESS IN NEW MANAGER
The Scottish football player, Charlie Adam, has said that the new manager of Liverpool, Brendon Rodgers, has brought freshness in the team. However, he said that the previous manager, Kenny Dalgish, hadn’t done a bad job for the team. Adam is known to be very close to Dalgish. It was Dalgish who brought him to the club. Adam was struggling with the knee injury last season and he had to sit out of a lot of matches. He was not able to play in the FA cup final. The performance of Liverpool was disastrous during the last season.
Dalgish had to take a lot of criticism due to Liverpool’s bad performance and eventually, he was terminated from his position. But, Adam said that to terminate Dalgish was not the right decision. As per Adam, football is a team game and the whole team was responsible for such a performance. He said that Dalgish signed seven players last year, but, only those 7 players didn’t play the matches. Several other players had also appeared in the matches. So, the whole team should be blamed. You can’t blame just one person.
As per Adam, Dalgish brought him to the club and now, he has left the club. So, it is quite disappointing. He was a nice man and very supportive in nature. But, the team has to forget about the previous year’s performance and has to look forward now. He said that he has a lot of points to prove to his critics in the upcoming season. On being asked about Rodgers, Adam said that every manager has his own style and has a different way of going about things. It is good to work with someone who has fresh ideas. But, at the same time, he said that the players have to work very hard to give an improved performance this season.
