The Scottish football player, Charlie Adam, has said that the new manager of Liverpool, Brendon Rodgers, has brought freshness in the team. However, he said that the previous manager, Kenny Dalgish, hadn’t done a bad job for the team. Adam is known to be very close to Dalgish. It was Dalgish who brought him to the club. Adam was struggling with the knee injury last season and he had to sit out of a lot of matches. He was not able to play in the FA cup final. The performance of Liverpool was disastrous during the last season.
Dalgish had to take a lot of criticism due to Liverpool’s bad performance and eventually, he was terminated from his position. But, Adam said that to terminate Dalgish was not the right decision. As per Adam, football is a team game and the whole team was responsible for such a performance. He said that Dalgish signed seven players last year, but, only those 7 players didn’t play the matches. Several other players had also appeared in the matches. So, the whole team should be blamed. You can’t blame just one person.
As per Adam, Dalgish brought him to the club and now, he has left the club. So, it is quite disappointing. He was a nice man and very supportive in nature. But, the team has to forget about the previous year’s performance and has to look forward now. He said that he has a lot of points to prove to his critics in the upcoming season. On being asked about Rodgers, Adam said that every manager has his own style and has a different way of going about things. It is good to work with someone who has fresh ideas. But, at the same time, he said that the players have to work very hard to give an improved performance this season.

Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has said that he is ready to start the new season in the best possible manner, according to the Liverpool News website.
The former Blackpool midfielder has also said that he wants to impress the new manager as well as possible. Liverpool recently sacked manager Kenny Dalglish after a very poor season in the league, despite the fact that they managed to get their hands on a trophy for the first time in six years in the form of a Carling cup. Liverpool owners have set a target of finishing in the top four for the next manager. They are in discussions with Wigan manager Roberto Martinez and Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers.
Charlie Adam has said that he is extremely disappointed at the fact that Kenny Dalglish – the man who signed him – had to leave the club after just one and a half years in charge. Liverpool finished the season in the eighth position, which was not deemed good enough by the Liverpool owners who had spent £ 120 million on several new players in the summer. Even though there is not going to be such a lavish spending this time around, it is thought that the new manager will be given a significant amount nonetheless.
“Dalglish was a key factor in me going to Liverpool – but he’s gone now so we have to move on. I was surprised when he left but the owners make these decisions. They have been first-class since they came in and have put a lot of money in to the club. Now we have to look to the future. Whoever comes in will be a top manager who is used to working with top players. It’s one of the best jobs in English football so it will be very attractive to a lot of people,” said Charlie Adam.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has not ruled out Charlie Adam for the rest of the season by saying that the former Blackpool midfielder is expected to return for the final few matches of the season.
Charlie Adam moved to Liverpool for £ 9 million in the summer. Even though his form during the initial part of the campaign was extremely good, he suffered a catastrophic dip in form only a few months ago. This translated into the form of the team as well, who struggled to get results in the league. Just when everyone thought that the season could not get any worse for Charlie Adam, the Scottish midfielder suffered a knee injury.
The knee ligament injury suffered in the match against QPR means that Liverpool could be without Charlie Adam if they qualify for the FA Cup final. Initially, it was expected that Adam will be missing the entire season. However, Kenny Dalglish has said that there is a slight chance that the Scottish midfielder could return to the first-team action before the end of the season, which will be a massive boost for Liverpool. Liverpool have been hit by a number of injury problems to key players this season. There are currently without any hopes of getting into the Champions League, which was their aim prior to the start of the season.
Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has said that the upcoming March month of football is one of the most definitive for the club as a whole. Liverpool had just won the Carling cup – their first major trophy after six years. However, they have not kicked on in the domestic league, as they continue to struggle in the Premier league. As result, Charlie Adam has said that the month of March will be definite for Liverpool because it would determine their future success. Liverpool have been out of the Champions League for a good number of seasons now and it was the main objective of Kenny Dalglish when he was appointed.
However, the prospect of Champions League looks beyond the at least for another season after their defeat against Arsenal. The stoppage time winner by Robin van Persie now means that Liverpool face a 10 point gap between them and the fourth place chasing teams. To make matters even worse, the number of competitors for this position is extremely large at the moment. Hence, it is highly unlikely that Liverpool will make it into the top four with yet another average month of football. Liverpool will be up against the likes of Sunderland and Everton during March.
“March is probably going to define the season for us and we’re going to keep playing and trying to win as many games as we can. Every game is a massive game at this club. Hopefully we can get ourselves on the road to being successful again. You can never give up – you never know what can happen in this league. We’ll never give up, no matter what,” Adam said after the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal. The very average home form has been one of the major downfalls for Liverpool this season.
Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has said that he would certainly step up to take the next penalty, despite missing the latest one against Wigan athletic. It would have given the opportunity for Liverpool to take all three points, as they could only draw the match with Wigan.
However, Charlie Adam has said that he is still very much confident that he can continue taking penalties for Liverpool. This season has seen a number of players miss penalties, and Liverpool especially, have hit the woodwork a record 17 times so far this campaign. It has cost them a number of points, like the match against Wigan, where they could have taken all three points had Charlie Adam converted the penalty.
This is the fourth failure in five attempts for Liverpool when it comes to penalties and this is something that Kenny Dalglish will be keen to work on. Many that penalties to be an easy way to score and get into the match, but Charlie Adam differs from this issue because penalties are extremely tough because of the pressure and tension involved. However, he has said that he is more than willing to take on the responsibility of being the designated penalty taker for Liverpool in the absence of Steven Gerrard. Steven Gerrard has an exceptional record when it comes to scoring penalties and only Chelsea’s Frank Lampard can better that record.
“I never thought I made a good connection with the penalty and the keeper made a good save but I’m disappointed I didn’t score. I scored the last one I took and was confident but I missed it. But if the opportunity comes around again I will be there to try to take another one,” Adam said. Despite the draw, manager Kenny Dalglish was positive about the team’s chances for the rest of the season.
Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has said that the loss of Lucas is a major blow for Liverpool. Liverpool have been struggling with the number of midfielders, with the injury to Steven Gerrard especially crucial to their plans. Now, the injury to Lucas, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season, can be even more damaging to the team’s aspirations to finish in the Champions League qualification positions.
Lucas suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the Carling cup match against Chelsea, which Liverpool managed to win 2-0. However, Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish would have been more than happy to concede defeat in the match if it meant that Lucas would be fit for the remainder of the season.
He has gone on to an extremely important player for Liverpool after struggling to win over fans during the early part of this Liverpool career. He has been so important that even Jamie Carragher has come out with the statement that Lucas has been one of their best players in the last 18 months or so. This is quite a praise given that Liverpool also have the likes of Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez in their books.
“We’ve been playing quite well together. He is a Brazilian international so it’s no wonder he’s been absolutely fantastic for us. He’s devastated but we’re all helping him and giving support. I emailed him yesterday and said he will come back stronger mentally and hopefully a better player,” Charlie Adam was quoted as saying with regards to the injury suffered by Lucas.
Despite the major injury, Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has confirmed that the club will not be recalling Alberta Aquilani from AC Milan. Instead, they have recalled Jonjo Shelvey from Charlton Athletic, thus bringing his loan move to a premature halt.
